"CAMBRIDGE, MD., April 22 - Miss Blanche Maria Spedden, daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Spedden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Spedden, was married today to Mr. Charles Tubman Mace, at thehome of the bride. Miss Edythe Spedden was maid of honor; groomsman Mr. Albert Mace, of Penn Argyle, Pa.; Ushers, W. Frank Applegarth and Arthur Austin. The ceremony was performed by Father Daugherty, after which a breakfast was served and then Mr. and Mrs. Mace left on an extended tour." Balitmore Sun, April 23, 1903

"Miss Delma Spedden, daughter of Mr. Wm. H. Spedden was married last night to Mr. Joseph Sunderland Wilson at Wesley chapel Methodist Episcopal Church. The ceremony was performed by Rev. James P. Wilson, father of the groom.[...]" Baltimore Sun, January 14, 1898


This one is interesting, as the couple was married in a Catholic church and it appears "our" Speddens were Catholic (while most of the other Maryland Speddens were Methodist):

"Cambridge - S. Hubert Applegarth, son of former State Senator William F. Applegarth, of ?on??, and Miss Elizabeth Spedden, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. S. Spedden were married Tuesday afternoon at the parsonage of St. Mary's Catholic church by the Rev J.J. Mooney. The bride is a graduate of Cambridge High school and has been a teacher in the county schools." Baltimore Sun, January 8, 1914

"Spedden-Travers. [...] in Harlem Park Methodist Episcopal Church, Where Miss Martha E. Travers, daugther of Mrs. Gillie Travers, 403 North Gilmor street, was married to Dr. Ernest spedden, 610 North Carrollton avenue, Rev. Harry D. Mitchell, pastor of the church, officiated.  Mr. herbert Barnes was best man. [...] Upon their return they will reside at 408 north Gilmor Street. [...]" Baltimore American, June 15, 1910.

"Spedden - Travers. Miss Martha Elizabeth Travers, daughter of Mrs. Ollie B. Travers, 408 North Gilmor street, was married to Dr. Ernest R. Spedden yesterday afternoon at Harlem park Methodist Episcopal Church by the pastor. Rev. Harry D. Mitchell. [...] On their return they will live at 408 North Gilmor street." Baltimore Sun, June 15, 1910

 "Wollenberg-Spedden - The wedding of Miss Inez M. Spedden daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.J.F. Spedden to Mr. Charles L. Wollenberg of Washington, d.C. took place yesterday mroning at the home of the bride's parents, 509 South Paca street. The ceremony was performed by Rev. G. W. Miller of the Second English Lutheran church.[...] They will make their future home at 935 K street northwest, Washington [...]" Baltimore American, june 15, 1905

"Heddinger-Spedden. Miss Louise Adele Spedden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Dawson Spedden and Mr. Robert F. Heddinger, son of Mrs. Margaret Heddinger and the late Charles F. Heddinger, were married at 3 o'clock Saturday, June 12, at the First Methodist episcopal Church by the Rev. W.H. Morgan, assisted by the Rev. Hugh Johnston. [...] She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Carro?? D. Edgar, as matron of honor [...] Mrs. Margaretta Spedden sang [...] The ushers included Mr. Harold L. Spedden, brother of the bride; Mr. Foster Heddinger, brother of the bridegroom, Mr Carroll D. Edgar and Mr. Harry Lamback [...] The out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Spedden and son, of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Margaretta Spedden and children of Chambersburg, Pa; Mr. and Mrs. J.W. John, Miss Ellen Johnson and brother Rawleigh of Pittsburg, Pa.; Mrs. Charles M. Harby? and daughter Margaret, of wilmington, and Mrs. Virginia Williams of Annapolis." Baltimore Sun, June 13, 1920
